A:\kiteless.exe /BLM<p>Oh boy! It begins! Haha. Still waiting for the ram upgrade but 8MB will have to do for now. </p><p><a href="https://furries.club/tags/retrocomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrocomputing</span></a></p>
Moss Wizard<p>There should be a <a href="https://beige.party/tags/RetroComputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RetroComputing</span></a> emulator for smart phones that converts everything to green text on black background, pixelated letters, and all images rendered as ASCII. Big blinking cursor at the end of the line. At least a Mastodon client.</p>
SDF.ORG<p>If you are in the Atlanta area come by and say "hello" at the MIMMS Museum of Technology and Art. SDF will have a table during Tech-Splore April 26th from 10am-5pm and we’ll be demoing the PiDP-10 sn 0000 running an 8080 simulator with Altair BASIC as well as ITS and ways to access the various SDF's remote vintage systems. <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/retrocomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrocomputing</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/vintagecomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vintagecomputing</span></a></p>
Mark Moxon<p>Sometimes it's the small projects that are the most enjoyable.</p><p>Case in point: this month I'm building !EliteNet, which connects the <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/Archimedes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Archimedes</span></a> version of <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/Elite" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Elite</span></a> to the Econet multiplayer scoreboard, so ArcElite players can compete against <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/BBCMicro" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BBCMicro</span></a> players.</p><p>I last wrote a RISC OS application in 1995. That's 30 years ago! Turns out that BBC BASIC V is still a great language to code in.</p><p>And I've never written a RISC OS relocatable module before, so even now, this old dog is learning new ARM-based tricks.</p><p>And… ArcElite! ❤️</p><p>I absolutely love this hobby.</p><p><a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/retrogaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrogaming</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/retrocomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrocomputing</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/riscos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>riscos</span></a></p>

FozzTexx<p>In addition to the Amdek DVM, I also have two Amdek RGBI cards, and a Kaga-Taxan analog RGB card. </p><p>The top card is an Amdek DVM II, it doesn't have any daughter cards and the 80 column input is an RCA connector on the front.</p><p>The middle card is a Video-7 card made by Amdek. It also has no daughter cards and has many of the same features as the Video-7 IIe only card that Apple produced.</p><p>The bottom card by Taxan does analog RGB.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.fozztexx.com/tags/AppleII" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AppleII</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.fozztexx.com/tags/VintageComputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VintageComputing</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.fozztexx.com/tags/RetroComputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RetroComputing</span></a></p>

FozzTexx<p>That’s what I see by beeping it out without removing the boards. I should have drawn the 2x8 connector in the middle. Oh well, that’s what <a href="https://mastodon.fozztexx.com/tags/KiCad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>KiCad</span></a> is for. <a href="https://mastodon.fozztexx.com/tags/AppleII" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AppleII</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.fozztexx.com/tags/VintageComputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VintageComputing</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.fozztexx.com/tags/RetroComputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RetroComputing</span></a></p>
FozzTexx<p>Case separated, giving me access to the two Amdek DVM daughter boards. <a href="https://mastodon.fozztexx.com/tags/AppleII" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AppleII</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.fozztexx.com/tags/VintageComputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VintageComputing</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.fozztexx.com/tags/RetroComputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RetroComputing</span></a></p>
FozzTexx<p>Taking the case apart requires removing 10 screws from the bottom. Because it's a late model RFI case, it also requires removing 4 screws from the motherboard so the RFI back shield can be slid out from under the motherboard. <a href="https://mastodon.fozztexx.com/tags/AppleII" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AppleII</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.fozztexx.com/tags/VintageComputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VintageComputing</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.fozztexx.com/tags/RetroComputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RetroComputing</span></a></p>

Dan Morgan :ksu:<p>Then i used dfontSplitter to crack that file and extract the bitmaps as .bdf files.</p><p>THEN I used FontLab 8 to export the .bdf as .ttf</p><p>A final step to make them web-ready was to run the .ttf files through transfonter(dot)org.</p><p>I'm hosting a ton of my work now in a separate GitHub repo. <a href="https://github.com/danmorgandesigns/classic-mac-elements" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/danmorgandesigns/cl</span><span class="invisible">assic-mac-elements</span></a><br> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/marchintosh" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>marchintosh</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/retrocomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrocomputing</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/macos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>macos</span></a></p>

I dragged a font file (which is a hybrid of bitmaps and .ttf files and THIS IS KEY) on to USB stick.</p><p>(Because this is a slightly more modern file than a Suitcase, the resource fork doesn't get stripped in the move.) <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/marchintosh" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>marchintosh</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/retrocomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrocomputing</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/macos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>macos</span></a> 1/2</p>
