Re: mastodon.social/@arstechnica/1

Yeah, something changed in this update, on a Pixel 8 in my case.

My comment on that article:

"I've not noticed anything in notification haptics... but screen tapping feedback has felt weird since the Mar '25 update to my Pixel 8. It feels like it ... resonates ? Kind of like I'm tapping a taut drum rather than stiff glass. It happens with simple things like tapping the back/home/app switch virtual buttons."

Google didn't mention any changes to haptics prior to the Pixel Drop. https://arstechnica.com/google/2025/03/bad-vibes-google-may-have-screwed-up-haptics-in-the-new-pixel-drop-update/?utm_brand=arstechnica&utm_social-type=owned&utm_source=mastodon&utm_medium=social

I'm struggling with the impossible letter P reflection in this story art. The possible future iPhone action button is interesting, though. Presumably replacing mute switch with customizable haptic button with no moving parts. macrumors.com/2023/07/26/ios-1
