"Ask Bing" seems new since Android 16.
How do I turn this off? A casual stroll through settings didn't turn anything up.
Is this specific to #GrapheneOS? I doubt it.
Yes, I use Debian and GrapheneOS every day, no complaints here, just casually flaunting my taste in operating systems.
I just stay on #MintMobile for the ~$195/year price

#GrapheneOS keeps my #Pixel9 pretty safe/secure. Regardless of my carrier I suppose.
Not worrying about all the things being harvested anymore.
Today, I tested the "Record Track" feature in @organicmaps during my bike ride in Bergen, Norway.
I’m already a fan of Organic Maps, and this feature worked very well for tracking my route on GrapheneOS.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to log their outdoor adventures!
Police in Spain have reportedly started profiling people carrying Google Pixel devices operating on #GrapheneOS

An easy fix for an annoying problem.
Wish me luck, I am flashing my Pixel 8a with GrapheneOS
@GrapheneOS @foxydonuts I agree with the written, but #degoogle means independence and, above all, the use of excellent Foss applications that allow the user absolutely more privacy and a more user -friendly experience. #grapheneos #degoogle
@foxydonuts @GrapheneOS I don't understand, what is a point to have a smart #Grapheneos and use a google spyware even that you deconnect it. Use FOSS app without #googlespyware, that is point of use a #degoogled phone.
Oh hey, made it a priority to set the new phone up. It took a while since you have to manually install it all and grant exceptions for some things, but I'm mostly up and running.
All apps, including banking ones, seem to work. I did put Google Play and Play Services on for installing apps, but I'm ok with that. I also installed GBoard (with no network) because I could not use the default keyboard well.
I have a Google work profile, but I wonder if I really want to mess with that. I've been told it should work but so I care? As long as I can use the authenticator apps and Slack I should be ok. The calendar is what I care about most and I can get to that via Slack.
So yeah, all in all this was not a bad experience ( better than Qubes!) and I'm glad to not leak asuch data to Google or have all that bloat. I also like the suress password and being able to section things off.
Thanks @GrapheneOS!
Hey #FOSS friends!
I just got into biking again as an adult, and I’m loving it!
Now I’m on the hunt for a simple open source app to track how far I ride. Bonus points if it’s on GitHub, if not, at least F-Droid works. If there’s nothing bike-specific, I’m cool with any travel or hiking tracker too.
I use a Pixel 9a with GrapheneOS.
Any recs? Drop ’em here!
Currently checking out all the recommendations, before I head out riding with a few of them, thanks again!
@wanderinghermit I would opt for #GrapheneOS. But there are other alternatives. Maybe this site is helpful:

The incompetent police in katalania considers all pixel users to be potential criminals because they can install #grapheneOS which is good for privacy and protecting your personal data.
Best advertisement ever. Install #grapheneOS
@wanderinghermit No contest, go for #GrapheneOS @GrapheneOS

@GrapheneOS Thanks for the info. I've not yet found enough time to examine every bit of it, but I generally appreciate public service content like this. As for any personal or potentially legal issues, I can not judge. But again, the assistance with critically thinking things through as a layperson is invaluable. #degoogle #encryption #phones #BraxMan #andoid #grapheneos #privacy #security #brax
