Photo weaving: this is a piece of a window from a church in The Hague. I used it to make all kinds of patterns. I call it photo weaving. I mirror the piece with photoshop, mirror it again, flip it over and mirror again, etc. until I have something nice. For the next pattern I take a piece of the piece, mirror it, flip it over, mirror again, etc. This is how all kinds of different patterns came about. I also used this technique to design wallpapers for a shortstay hotel in The Hague. They wanted wallpapers of all kinds of pieces of The Hague. This is a piece of a church window. Two stone arches come from the bottom left and fan out upwards. The spaces between them are filled with narrower stone arches in drop shapes. In between dark stained glass.
A new pattern, formed from the previous piece of photo. A wide band in the middle, but now by mirroring and merging triangles have been created on both sides.
The band is now wider, the original piece is even smaller and the pattern in the band is also smaller. Again a different pattern
Two rows have now been created in yet another pattern of stone arches and stained glass.

🏰Pink Castle in the Sky, 2022🏰

Building Pink Castles exhibition was held at @nykyaika
in spring 2022. It was a pink dip to deep end of escapism.

"I built myself a pink castle high up in the sky where the aurora is constant and flushes the clouds with a rosy glow. From the deepest depths of the ocean, I drilled and tore the most sparkling and radiant items, with a unicorn’s horn sturdier than a thousand diamonds. I read the cards for the signs of abundancy, and prayed the deities to keep my castle afloat, no matter how many expansions I would want to add to it."
