Started getting complaints that an email newsletter signup form I forgot about years ago quit working -- at such a rate that I must have accumulated at least a thousand emails in a DynamoDB table

Meet Andreea, part of our #TeamSeries at XWiki.
From intern to Junior Developer, she went from using CryptPad to helping build it. Today, she works on some of our most challenging projects and keeps learning every day.
Her favorite part? The balance of openness, support, and real impact.
Curious about her story: https://xwiki.com/en/Blog/Andreea-Software-Development-Engineer/
Marcin treating us to another fantastic update to Notepad.exe - now also a Python playground
I just had an absolutely horrible thought.
How do you make storypoints work with vibecoding? Incorporate tokens used, time to "onboard" the bot onto the right track and time/effort to bugfix after the bot leaves things out? Also standups...
do you ask Claude or GPT to summarize

I've been learning #gamedev for 3 months! I've used 2 engines (one framework), made 4 games and entered a #gamejam. This video is a look back at those first 3 months, the games I made, the jam results and a look ahead at what's next in my #gamedevjourney https://youtu.be/bBjLFJ7NtBQ #solodev #devlife
My favorite kind of mass email to send is the kind that tells people to not reply to the email if they don’t have any changes.
Predictably, half the people will flood my inbox with “looks good to me!”
IT’S DONE.
After months of grinding, coding, tweaking, testing, and plenty shouting, I’ve officially launched TEENVERSE — the first teen-only social platform that combines:
Hype Battles (Rap, dance, meme wars)
Anonymous Rant Zones
Virtual Coin Economy
Built for teens (13–19) only. No adults. No corporate BS. Just real Gen Z energy.
Tech Stack: React + TS, Node.js, SQLite
Try it now: teenverse.onrender.com

macOS just got an update.
What’s your move?
Let’s be honest. Xcode is watching
New here, just exploring.
Into #Python, #GameDev, #PyGame, #AndroidDev, #OpenSource, #FOSS, #LiminalSpaces, #Backrooms, #Brutalism and #AIForGood.
Mostly introverted, always curious.
This is so damn true. I didn't even make a game, but had to study gamification and implement a scoring system for user activity for a project I was on. I couldn't look at games the same way again.
I found my inner voice saying things like "Oh I get double points for catching that star? Awesome! Who the hell put that star there? What do I get for these amazing double points? Woo hoo, what can I buy with bragging rights?"
Week in review:

Most memorable quote of the week:
"If you are dramatically changing, you might even say obliterating the market for that person's work, and you're saying that you don't even have to pay a license to that person to use their work to create the product that's destroying the market for their work-I just don't understand how that can be fair use."
US DISTRICT COURT JUDGE VINCE CHHABRIA to META LAWYER KANNON SHANMUGAM
I'd like to make 2 changes to the software industry.
1. The removal of AI. Let’s just pretend it never happened, so we can try again in 50 years with a more ethical and sustainable approach.
2. Find a way to include the use of lasers in software development. Where would we use them? How would they be implemented? I have no idea. These are questions without answers. I just know I want lasers, because lasers are cool
Once again, I have spent several hours today #debugging a problem in my game that was caused by me trying to get clever! I thought I'd try out the #unity event system without bothering to even watch a tutorial first. Lesson learned lol #indiedev #devlife #codefails
We tried to “ship” a product. It never left the box.
This pair of product managers clearly needs a bit more training... but we love them anyway.
Fortunately, our actual deployments are smoother than this one.
I'm feeling super tired on this #humpday, for my #gamedev time today I'm going to take it easy and continue working through a book I'm learning from. #devlife #WellnessWednesday
