That time I added layers of blush tulle and twinkling lights to a wedding dress for their NYE wedding at the NAC in Ottawa. Hours spent #handstitching the tiny string lights in place on the under layers. The battery packs (4) were held in place in fabric pockets I added to the hoop skirt worn under the dress.

Major resize of a 2nd hand dress that was great in every other way for the bride.
I had to add at both the side seams and the back zipper to get the needed circumference at their ribs.
Then the illusion mesh needed to be reduced along with shortening the back button line by 4 buttons and loops.
I then had to add in some extra illusion mesh- taken from the front hem - to fill in the missing circumference where the bodice and mesh would meet and use some of the dress lace plus extra from my stash to cover the seams.

Another #redesign project from a few years back took Grandma’s dress and make it new. They shared photos of the first wedding, and mom wearing it too, and then my client.

This one is based on a quick rough minute-sketch I did the other day.

That's why it's important always having some paper and writing-thingy with you, just in case the brain farts some creative ideas.

This design will be part of the new series too. I have 12 now and bit by bit develloping them into 1 overall style, which I can then paint in big.

#flashback to a custom made lace dress that took advantage of the lace pattern and worked with it to create elegant symmetry.

Using a dark blush satin lining hightlighted the shapes of the lace.
Illusion mesh at the shoulders and neckline made the dress comfortable and secure for the dancing!

The burgundy silk jacket with gold collar is actually completely reversible

The white silk jacket with purple velvet skirt were my wedding outfit from 1998, with both top and skirt made from remnants.
