It is appearing very likely that #RationalWiki will be dissolved this year due to lack of legal representation (no pro bono lawyers came forward and we do not have funds to hire a lawyer). Meritless #defamation lawsuits were filed against us by "human biodiversity"/"scientific racism"/pro-eugenics plaintiffs. The plaintiffs are consequently likely to win their cases by default.

It's very difficult to sue editorial cartoonists for defamation, because it's generally clear that they're not reporting factual news, they're just expressing opinions. I can't think of a single example of a successful lawsuit like that. That said, though, #AnnTelnaes is really putting that principle to the test. To be clear, I'm a huge fan, I adore her work, and I wish her the best. But I have to wonder if she's deliberately trying to goad Trump into suing her. Telnaes is a journalist, and as such she has to understand #defamation #law well enough to know that accusation of having a "loathsome disease" is defamation per se in most states, meaning that the plaintiff doesn't have to prove damages, they're just assumed. Trump would have to prove "actual malice," but one formulation of that is "reckless disregard of the truth or falsity of the statement," which seems applicable. Is Telnaes trying to set up a test case here?

Having been the victim of #defamation in December 2023, I was forced to close my old #YouTube channel related to my #indiedev activity.

It's too late to file a complaint (I was accused of r*pe) and I no longer have the evidence with me. A year and a half ago, I'm relaunching my new YouTube channel. Feel free to give it a thumbs-up, especially on vertical videos, because those who give it a thumbs-up clearly don't give a damn.

Un an et demie, je relance ma nouvelle chaine YouTube. N'hésitez pas à mettre des pouces verts, notamment sur les vidéos verticales, parce que ceux qui mettent des pouces rouges ne se font clairement pas chier.
