Longtime White House reporters say the result has been an erosion of their independence. They say the increased attention toward pro-#Trump media personalities, who *rarely* [never] challenge the admin’s talking points, has undercut the briefings as a space to relay accurate information to the American public & hold the president to account.

Sunday night’s post about #CBS is the latest example of #Trump encouraging his appointees to apply government pressure against his critics. In recent months, Carr has flaunted his MAGA credentials & launched #FCC investigations of several media outlets Trump has derided, including #ABC & #NBC. Carr was photographed last week wearing a gold pin with a silhouette of Trump’s head [wtf?].

#Trump name-checked the man he promoted to chair the #FCC, Brendan Carr, whom he called “Highly Respected.” He said hopefully Carr “will impose the maximum fines & punishment, which is substantial, for their unlawful & illegal behavior.”

There is no evidence of illegal behavior by #CBS.

Preliminary Inj., ECF No. 27. It sought to enjoin the Government from denying the AP access to the Oval Office, Air Force One, and other limited spaces because of the AP's viewpoint. The Court granted the AP's preliminary injunction request. Mem. Order, ECF No. [46]. The Court now, on its own motion, stays its Memorandum Order imposing a preliminary injunction through April 13, 2025, to provide the Government time to seek an emergency stay from a higher court and to prepare to implement the Court's injunction. This stay automatically dissolves after April 13, absent further relief from a higher court. For this reason, it is hereby ORDERED that the Court's [46] Memorandum Order Granting Plaintiff's [27] Amended Motion for Preliminary Injunction is STAYED through April 13, 2025. SO ORDERED.
