Why doesn't #linuxmint preinstall mintupgrade? The official instructions tell the user to open a terminal and use apt to install it before a release upgrade and remove it after the upgrade. Odd choice for a beginner friendly distro.

#zorin for example is released with its upgrader tool, it's always there.

Huh. #Zorin is a pretty nice #Linux distro. I know it gets labelled as "Linux for Windows users", but it's more than that.

Maybe I'm getting old, but I want a distro that "Just Works" and has good looks out-of-the-box. Zorin seems to fit both requirements nicely.

About to lose my mind. Some update in the newest versions of #LinuxMint and #Ubuntu prevent them from booting on my (relatively new) HP laptop. Out of desperation, I installed #Zorin instead. It boots just fine…but won’t recognize the external hard drive where I backed up all of my data. AAAAAAA.

What's the oldest computer you have in ACTIVE use. It doesn't have to be every day, but not something that's sitting in a drawer you haven't turned on for a decade. Something you use. For me, it's a Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 1, which originally was released in 2012. I'm currently running #Zorin 16.1 :zorin: on it, and it's perfectly capable of most of my everyday tasks.

#Zorin OS: zorin.com/os/ Decently professional and easy to use with an interface chooser for different Windows / Mac-style layouts. Application title bars are way oversized and you can't change it. Worse of all, the titlebar buttons' click region doesn't extend to the corner. What the hell is it with modern software and the complete abandonment of Fitts's Law!??
