I received an old car radio some time ago and decided to scrape components from it. One of the chips was a TEA6330T sound fader, that miraculously has a not classified datasheet ( https://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/19741/PHILIPS/TEA6330T.html ) so naturally i decided to bring it back to life with a custom Arduino library!

The library includes functions for every option the documentation mentions. I tested it without actual speakers but the chip responded correctly to all the commands. Sound test remains on my todo list.

Earlier this week I got to visit #Bangor and do another #salvage exercise with GLAMs around #NorthWales on behalf of the Welsh gov.
We were treated to a sunny day so we actually did most of it outside: this was a joy but also presented some additional little hiccups like potential sunburn, being mildly threatened by seagulls, things drying TOO quickly or becoming sun bleached, and the ever present risk of a gentle breeze blowing something away!

Good to see this. Salvaging building materials for re-use makes so much sense. And warehousing them, to make easily available.

Today I had a lot of fun running a practical #salvage day for GLAMs in #Wales: we had a great time talking about #DisasterPlanning and how to best deal with #collections when they get soggy. 
One of my favs from the salvage buckets were these handwritten pages of training notes from someone: the blue ink was running everywhere and staining everything in its path. Beautiful! Horrific!

New Trump indictment salvages Trump election obstruction case after Supreme Court immunity ruling
Special counsel #Jack #Smith filed an updated indictment Tuesday against Donald Trump in a bid to #salvage and #strengthen the historic #election #obstruction #case,
following a Supreme Court ruling that granted broad #immunity to presidents for official acts and sharply criticized the prosecutor’s approach.
The #superseding #indictment comes as a critical window was closing for Smith. -- In about 10 days, a Justice Department policy known as “the 60-day rule” will take effect -- forestalling any new filing of charges against the former president.
In a written notice to the court, Smith said that the indictment was 
filed “by a new grand jury that had not previously heard evidence in this case” and that it “reflects the Government’s efforts to respect and implement the Supreme Court’s holdings and remand instructions.”
Trump faces the same four charges related to his alleged attempts to overturn Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory.
Smith said he will not seek to have Trump arraigned again on the new version of the indictment and still expects to make a joint proposal with the former president’s defense lawyers this week about how to schedule new pretrial hearings

Okay, I need some help with naming a thing. I'm putting together my own #solarpunk org that is focusing on community #resiliency, with an emphasis on reusing and recycling #salvage to develop tools, techniques, and practices to create said resiliency. The main thrust is we would be working to a less consumptive future, using our junk to transition to that future while also tackling the various disasters from #climatechange. Essentially a #fablab or #testbed.
