Guest skated with Granite State Roller Derby in their game against NHRD yesterday. My first time skating as a Hired Gun, which was a nice change for all the folks who have supported our team this season so far.

What a fun crew 11/10 would join them again for any lineup.

After a weekend with a lot of peopling and #RollerDerby as tournament head referee for Harbour Cup and a somewhat stressful trip home yesterday, my plan today is to weed a bit in the #garden (which really needs it after almost 2 weeks of lots of rain and some sun).

Also snacking on some fresh baby carrots, white turnips, French radishes just picked by Friends Farm - their first CSA pick-up just happened to be Tuesday.

That "super chill" Monday morning roller derby practice was not nearly as "super chill" as I was led to believe. Oof.

I stepped out. I'm doing as much as I can as often as I can, but it's fucking hard after 10 years away.

Well, I did it. My first derby practice in 10 years is in the books!

I didn't last to the end of practice because I just got too tired, but it was hella fun. I had one hard fall that I realized was because I got too tired so I stepped out.

I can't wait to come back next week. Once my schedule allows I will be coming to additional practices and it's gonna be great.

I already really like it here.

I'll be a skater member of a roller derby league starting this week and I ... wow. It's been so long.

And not just any league, the friggin' Rose City Rollers- home of a five-time world champion team. I will not be a world-class skater any time soon (or ever, probably) but it's still gonna be awesome.

In two weeks, I will be traveling to Wales and England to play Roller Derby in an away game against Riot City Ravens in Wales and two 5 Nations Roller Derby Games in England, hosted by Bristol Roller Derby. I have two entire Roller Derby teams behind me who I am proud to be part of. I will be defying all "guidance", diktats or laws from the British Government on the segregation of trans women while in GB.
