What a lousy morning for Parks on the Air. However, I’m glad to report that it only took about three kilometers’ worth of power to make twenty contacts spanning tens of thousands of kilometers. How’s _that_ for efficiency?

I even got one park-to-park contact with a guy in Texas!

If you worked me, my logs have been uploaded to POTA, QRZ, and Logbook of the World.

It was a bit nerve wracking, but I made my first handful of CW contacts today, doing some POTA hunting.

I'm sure I violated a bunch of unspoken procedures, but very grateful for the other hams who helpfully slowed down to sub-10 words per minute for me.

I guess I should send a mail QSO card to the op who took my very first CW call, that might be nice.

Good day of ham radio progress! I just got my first FT8 QSO confirmation on QRZ (of 8), and also picked up MS on SSB towards QRZ WAS, leaving just 2 states for that goal... And hopefully I'll have my first POTA FT8 contact confirmed as well.

I'm having more fun with FT8 than I thought I would too, so big bonus points there.

Aaaand DONE. My first #POTA rove - 8 parks, 8 hours, all on foot. Total distance 10.2 miles (two of which through a marsh), 23500 steps, 162 QSOs, two blistered feet, one broken shoelace, and one well-deserved shower.

Today's #POTA mission: turn some of these yellow dots green. I am not really looking forward to most of these, I'm just looking forward to having done them.
