#VESA #Monitor mounting question.
I want to use a 43 inch TV that's lightweight. As long as I get the 200mm adapter, is there any reason I couldn't use a monitor arm (clamp-down) that's made for a smaller screen? The TV weight isn't an issue, I'm just wondering about how screen size might affect things.

Obraz nowego monitora prezentuje 27-calowa matryca IPS o rozdzielczości 2560 x 1440 pikseli.  Jej natywna częstotliwość odświeżania wynosi 240 Hz, jednak dzięki funkcji DP Overclock można ją podnieść do 260 Hz.  Czas reakcji panelu to 1 ms (GtG), a w specjalnym trybie Smart MBR skraca się on do 0,3 ms.  Takie parametry, uzupełnione o technologię Adaptive-Sync, mają zapewnić płynny obraz pozbawiony smużenia, co docenią szczególnie miłośnicy dynamicznych gier kompetytywnych.

Oprócz wysokich parametrów technicznych, producent wyposażył monitor w dodatkowe funkcje z myślą o graczach.  Wśród nich znalazły się m.in.

Monitor wyposażono w technologie Flicker-free i Low Blue Mode, które ograniczają odpowiednio migotanie obrazu i emisję niebieskiego światła, redukując zmęczenie oczu.

xFace is the standard here on desktop

It is the nicest the most pleasant for me.

The thing with traditional user interfaces is that people, UI designers, knew how eyes work.

Designers knew how to use the minimum of resources, to get the maximum amount of contrast, the maximum amount of rest, the maximum amount of rasterization, to achieve that your eyes will be relaxed looking at a cathode ray tube given an, amber colour for hours, and still being able to work pleasantly

The UI designers worked with Hardware Engineers, to know where the sweep pattern of the ray of the tube is, so that the display is interlaced in a pleasurable fashion for your eyes that's how far they went!

One thing that's also extremely annoying is disappearing scroll bars. What I can tell you, is that if I lock my mind on it, I can make patches for all the Desktop Environments and all the Window Managers that I use to put back the old fat non disappearing scroll bars back

There was never a good reason to make scroll bars disappear.

All it does is make things difficult for children with maximum dexterity from the minimum age of four, all the way up to the disaster for people who have limited Mobility who are Beyond sixty years of age

Klar, Hofberichterstattung.

The new monitor is just *amazing*. Exactly what I hoped the other to be. Great clarity, great definition, great colours, good audio.
I could not wait to try it. Such a difference from the other one.
I'm not sure I'll keep those two monitors on my desk - a 27" is large enough. The 24" will probably be a great addition to my office's desk 🙂

Finding information on the Internet has become increasingly difficult. I look for monitors and information about monitors -> all I find are references to gaming or movie playback. And I wonder: is there really no one left who spends many hours in front of a screen and looks into visual comfort, text rendering quality, etc.?

The result: I bought (at a good price) a 24" Dell Full HD monitor, trusting the widespread opinion that a 24" Full HD is “more than enough” - but those were posts related to video and gaming. I like the color and image rendering, but the text... it's just not good enough. It feels like going back 15 years. I probably should have gone for at least a QHD, but even in that category, all I can find are gaming-oriented models. Office-grade monitors are mostly special order, and there’s very little information out there.

I’ll try to adapt to this one – at least it has decent audio.

The screen is also horribly dirty. I opened it (after buying a set of long security Torx bits). Its electronic circuit is quite simple, as it’s a monochrome monitor, yet it is not very nice to work on: you have to disassemble almost everything to check components. I was suspicious of the capacitors and the TDA1170 that controls the vertical deflection. #repair #IBM #monitor

480Hz monitors are here…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERXwS5R4cYE

And apparently gamers really see a difference. Here’s another review of another 480Hz monitor

Playing at 480hz mode sort of feels like you’re cheating. The mouse feels like an extension of your hand–Just zipping around, rotating, aiming. It’s fantastic.

When playing 3rd person action games, RTS’s, and side-scrollers, the motion clarity of 480hz was very obvious. It feels like an image is being pushed and pulled across the monitor, not rendered. It looks sort of, perfect, sometimes in a very mundane way.

Contrary to what I was expecting, FPS’s at 480hz mode are not noticeably smoother than 144/240hz! This was surprising.

The premium end of the mobile world is at 120Hz and so are most of the higher end TVs. Computer monitors are still squarely stuck at 60Hz. I now believe that I will not be upgrading any of my computer monitors until 120Hz becomes more the norm while everyone chases 480Hz.
