Is Peter Khalil trying to curry favour with Donald Trump by copying his hairstyle? Some would say that it's so that he can stay on the payroll …
Says a lot about the #Wills local member that this made it to print and into his electorate's mailboxes. #Labor #merribek #auspol

This was a proposal for a development in Coburg North, 10km North of the Melbourne CBD. A development for hundreds of people and a whole block with zero residential car parking.

The only objections to this development were about it not having enough parking and how everybody needs to drive in Coburg North.

It's 400m from a train station and all of that distance can be traveled on a high quality bike path.

They are:
3 mins ride to the train station.
3 mins ride to the Sydney Rd tram (thus all the shopping, food and cafes of Sydney Rd)
3 mins ride to ALDI
3 mins ride to a doctor
5 mins ride to the green space of the Merri Creek
5 mins walk to a primary school
5 mins ride to Bunnings and Officeworks.
5 mins ride to 6 different gyms (one if a rock climbing gym, another is a velodrome)
5 mins ride to 6 different childcare centres
10 mins ride to another 6 childcare centres
10 mins ride to another 2 doctors
10 min ride from Coles and Woolworths.
10 mins ride to 2 other primary schools
40 mins ride straight to the CBD
40 mins train to the CBD.

It was really great to see the YIMBYs were out in force at this meeting. Nightinggale housing (nightingalehousing.org) has a great model of getting residents of previous developments and future residents to advocate for future developments which helps a lot.

It's an excellent development in a great location and I'm so glad the council voted to approve this development though it was sad to see some councilors still don't get it.

Finally! dad has created our own social media account. We no longer need to use those Quote marks with #JulietandJones

By way of #Introduction, we are two very precocious Chihuahuas engaged in #LifeInFawkner in #Merribek and navigating and philosophising our way through the Anthropocene. We are also foundational members of #ChihuahuasForClimateAction and are honourary members of local cycling advocacy group #MerribekBUG.

We take our human carer cycling just about everyday - he really does need the regular exercise. And we are happy to go to the dog park to send and receive our peemails.

We attend the #CouchPeloton and have even featured on #SBSCycling using the #TourDog hashtag.

"Hey Dad, we are famous. We are featured in this ABC News article today about public drinkng water fountains.

Too bad they did not include your comments about public water fountains reducing plastic waste, considering the #PlasticsCrisis we have and the current negotiations for #INC2 Global Plastics Treaty.

And they ignored the fact that more public water fountains is a climate adaptation enabling people to hydrate in public spaces during #heatwave events and extreme heat days that are becoming more common with global warming.

They also left out the Climate Action Merribek submission for more public drinking fountains in strip shopping centres around the municipality was accepted in the community budget ideas and funded to the tune of $50k by #Merribek Council.

I guess they couldn't include everything in the article....At least they included our names."
