Reagardless: People will pay. They always do, even if they complain (somewhat validly.) That’s why marketing works.
Despite Nintendo having killer hardware and content this year, they don’t know how to present it properly. They play it too safe.
#ScribesAndMakers Apr 17: #Marketing can be difficult. As a reader/viewer, what catches your interest and makes you want to buy?
Mostly I buy books on the basis of reviews and recommendations from friends. I don't pay much attention to book marketing or sales promos. They lie.
Start your week strong with positive vibes and powerful productivity!

Temple University: New research shows a pet’s cuteness can significantly influence intentions to book a home-sharing service like Airbnb. “A fluffy dog with soft fur, big round eyes, floppy ears and a small stature is so high on the ‘pet cuteness’ scale that it may influence your decision to book your next Airbnb stay. “

TIL McDonald's launched a new burger called the "Big Arch."
Sounds fine in English...
But I live in Alsace.
And in Alsatian (which is super close to German), "Arch" means... ass.
Yep. McDonald’s is proudly advertising their new
Big Ass
burger.
Corporate marketing team: Maybe next time do a quick multilingual vibe check before going global?
I have a suspicion that AI is an example of executive level disconnect, so here's a poll:
Would you rather AI infused appliances, or more expensive, but longer-lasting, reparable appliances?
The gaming industry has been efficient in training a lot of volunteer beta testers.
The concept of paying someone to test for them blew my mind.
Probably one of the most successful marketing campaign in recent decades, but then I don't know how the kids market works.
From "artificial intelligence" to "de-extinction", stop automatically believing what corporate marketers try to sell you.

Alright fedi, strap in! I'm mid-brainstorm and I'm bringing you along for the ride
I'm considering #hiring someone to help with client lead gen for my business - and while I know a *lot* about recruiting, i know very little about #marketing.
The target clients would be founders/c-suite teams of startups who have recently raised VC funding and usually end up with a lot of hiring to do as part of that agreement.
Anyone have suggestions on what this sort of arrangement might look like? Thinking it would definitely be part-time, likely hourly with something of a finder's fee if their leads pan out?
I'm also wondering if something like this would be good for a marketing student? They could turn it in to a use case/internship for their coursework/future interviews and also make money (which never hurts!).
So I guess I don't know what I'm asking... maybe any of the below:
* What would you call this kind of work?
* What kind of person should I be looking for?
* What metrics should someone have/what rates of success should I expect?
* What questions (if any) could I add to my interview to tell if someone is full of bullshit?
* What would be a going/fair rate and comp structure?
Anyway... thanks for coming to my brain dump!
