Maxime Van de Moortel has always been fascinated by the large structures of the universe, especially mysterious objects like black holes. In 2019, he earned a PhD at the University of Cambridge in the department of the legendary Stephen Hawking and subsequently held a postdoctoral position at Princeton University. Today, he's an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, where he investigates the secrets of gravity using differential equations to understand what happens inside these incredible black holes.
