This is me! (From a few years ago, but I haven’t changed much.) I thought I’d say hi and show my face around here. I don’t do this often - I’m mostly an introvert. But just sharing my work can feel a little impersonal, so I wanted to show the person behind the lights.

Low Lighthouse - Burnham-on-Sea

Yesterday thought I'd missed a chance of getting a shot of this lighthouse as the tide hadn't reached far enough up the beach by sunset. As I was walking away, I decided to get this last shot, glad I did as it's my favourite from the night.

A wooden lighthouse on legs stands in shallow water just off the shore. The turbulent sea has been smoothed over with a 60 second exposure. The sun has set and the few clouds above the horizon are catching the last colour of the day.

Chaotic patterns

(Shot from Saturday) I tried my best but nothing grabbed me in the short time today. And quite honestly…. I like this shot here too much not to post it.

Photo einer Fassade hinter einer Baustellenabsperrung. Die Fassade befindet sich offensichtlich im Bau. Teile wurden mit roten Steinen andere mit weißen neu gemauert. Überhängend sieht man einen Teil der alten Fassade. Nackter grauer Beton mit vertikaler Struktur.

Durch die unterschiedlichen Materialien und Formen entsteht optisch eine Art Flickenteppich.

Das Bild zeigt eine außergewöhnliche Szene in einer Pfütze auf einer gepflasterten Straße. In der Pfütze spiegelt sich ein kahler Baum und ein Gebäude mit einem Giebel und mehreren Fenstern. Die Spiegelung ist so klar, dass sie fast wie ein eigenes Bild wirkt. Die Pflastersteine, die die Straße bedecken, sind nass, und zwischen ihnen sammeln sich kleine Wasseransammlungen. Es ist eine alltägliche Szene, die durch die Spiegelung eine besondere Ästhetik erhält und die Schönheit im Detail einfängt. Das Foto ist um 180 Grad gedreht, sodass die Pflastersteine wie der Himmel wirken.
