Fantastic meeting tonight. A pilot of a corner of @kerstinsailer ‘s dream: showing students how to access building data to start understanding how one of our buildings work and to identify where we can change controls and behaviour to reduce energy demand and improve occupant comfort.
The biggest pleasure was to look at the joy on several faces (not least
@helenczerski’s) as our Energy Manager unveiled the data streams available. It’s going to be fun this summer. #UCLLivingLab #DigitalTwins

@dangillmor which is why the old, centralized thinking doesn’t work. TeleInterActive #Microgrids that share information and energy as sensor analytics ecosystems #SensAE responding to changes in renewable generation, storage and consumption through #IoT concepts and causal #DigitalTwins are required for solar, photovoltaic, wind, tidal and geothermal heat pumps, at every building, over every parking lot and along every roadway and railway #sustainability

Can someone tell me, the administrator of NASA, how this happened? NASA fucking *invented* digital twins. Then IBM, Siemens, GE, Cisco, Bosch and everyone come along and now there's ads for digital twins everywhere.

Well fuck it, NASA's going to digital quintuplets. Sure, we could go to digital triplets next. That might be the logical thing to do. Or even digital quadruplets. To smash that OKR.

But no. We're going to do digital fucking quintuplets. Because we're NASA.

#Introduction

I'm a #climate scientist working in the UK for the National Centre for Earth Observation.

I focus on the #carboncycle, #methane (especially from #wetlands) and #wildfires but our EO work takes us to every part of the Earth System.

Recently I'm working more and more on #digitaltwins, especially how do we make clever use of #machinelearning and democratise access to these complex models and observations to make them more useful for stakeholders.
