In this prerogative state, #judges & other legal actors deferred to the #racist hierarchies & ruthless expediencies of the #Nazi regime.
The key here is that this prerogative state does not immediately & completely overrun the normative state. However #EU includes 12 countries that endured #dictatorships until 1989, 10 that were controlled by the Soviet Union, 3 colonised and occupied by #Russians and 1 that survived #genocide in early ‘90s - so the concern and worry about the current geopolitical situation is real for many people.

Something always drove me crazy was when people said that they "wanted #government run like a #business." 
I'd tell them, "Businesses are #dictatorships. Their job is to turn a profit while the job of government is to provide a service regardless of cost. And if you don't like the job your gov't is doing, you can 'fire' them by voting them out. If a CEO screws you over, tough luck."
