These bananas are making me maaaad. Tried some different carving stuff (like a beige rubber whatever) and it was the worst. Shitty for carving, a pain in the azz while printing, and after a few prints it's already wasted. Bah.

I did these bananas for the im_printed exchange, but not sure if I want to start another thing cause they did not turn out as I wanted

Wooden nails in larch #wood

Making process
Pre-split with shingle iron/axe
Slightly conically carved
6-edged (4-edged with one broken edge)

Application
Drive (very) dry hexagonal wooden nails into the round hole (same or 0.5mm smaller hole diameter than the nail edge length),
Dipped in linseed oil shortly before makes it easier to drive in
No glue required

Some suitable wood:
Exterior: larch, oak...
Interior: birch, willow, lime, ash, beech, barberry...

A pair of carved wooden pendants, each with the same design, but made in different woods. The design consists of three leaves on two branches, both coming from a small circle where the bail for attaching to a necklace is located. The right thin branch curls down and splits into two each ending in a leaf. The left thin branch curls round and up, making a small circle where the branch turns inward and forms a leaf inside the circle. One pendant is a light brown wood, where the leaves have been veneered in green dyed wood, the other pendant is a dark brown wood, where the leaves have been carved in a more natural style. Background is grey slate.

I was fascinated to learn the weedy, problem tree/shrub, #buckthorn is a hardwood. It grows so fast and is so ornery, I won't have any hesitation to cut it back for #carving projects in future.
