For some reason, the system is not letting me add alt text. So, for the record, all four photos are of yellow canna lilies with deep orange spots in their centers. Their leaves are dark green.

It's Saturday and I have the day off. Which sounds like a treat, if I leave it at that. But if you follow my morning musings, you know that I have every day off. For some reason, Saturday still feels exciting.

There are things that puzzle me - surprise. 
The photographs that I post are mostly birds, plants, and other animals, nature type photos. But occasionally, I see an interesting building, ship, of other structure that I bet somebody would enjoy seeing a picture of. For some odd reason, a few of those benign photos seem to draw unsolicited blunt negative comments. Not from everybody, but it's almost as if there are a few people who thrive on trying to stifle the joy of other people.

![This is an incredible red Canna Lily (Canna indica L.), there is mostly brown earth in the background. I took this photo in Costa Maya, Mexico. The flower is difficult to describe. It is so uniformly red it's difficult to discern between the flower's petals. There appears to be two large roundish petals hanging downward and two upwards with the edge folded over. There are three, not yet completely bloomed lilies rolled and pointed upwards behind the flower.

Anyone know what this is?
I wanted to say #GladiolusCommunis and exclaim ‘#HelloPossums!!’
But I had a sneaking suspicion it could be something totally different.
And so too does my ID app… in fact it suggests anything from #Lobelia, #Montbretia, #CannaLily - and yes of course… #Gladiolus!
Google image search wanted to tell me it’s a gladdy… but you know what.. I’m not so sure.
Whatever it is, ‘twas snapped on my sisters farm in #Centralvictoria a few weeks back… deep red and it is happy as Larry.

Orange appears to be the most dominant colour that I’ve seen for 6+ weeks now and their flowering cycle is generous for us hedonistic humans!
They remind me of the tropics and I believe they grow prolifically in our northern (warmer, humid climate) States, especially Northern Queensland.
Just gorgeous.
