I previously posted about this little hummingbird that has made a nest in my backyard patio for the third year in a row. And since I don’t have my dad to share these with anymore, I decided to share with you all. I HAVE AN EXCITING UPDATE!! Rosie Pearl’s babies have hatched!! Meet the little twins—with eggshell still in their tiny feathers. 😍 Rosie is being a good mom and making sure to keep them feed. Both pictures are of her feeding them. ❤️

Today's #Project365 centered on two fledgling House Sparrows I saw placed in a dark corner by their mom before she left them...

"Lil bro, I got a bad feeling here. Mama ain't coming back."
"How'm I the lil bro? We the same size."
"Point is, we gotta get our own food now."
"Oh, wonderful, just how I wanted to wake up today."

(They did eventually go to the feeders on their own.)

this Apr 2011 photo is my screensaver on my new PC

i've published it many times (inc. to sites who paid me like Inquisitr & Medium) & seen it stolen many more times but if you've missed it, here it is again paywall free

Hey, #bird Mastodon, I have a nest of five almost-fledgeling baby finches living in a nest built in a hanging fern on the front porch.

Is it plausible to put up a net (or one of those sweater drying racks) under the basket to protect them?

There is nothing soft for them to land on if they were to er... flop out - it's just six feet to the pavement on my porch, or nine feet to the pavement on the sidewalk below the porch.
