Love making assemblages of finished boxes – thinking about David Rabinowitch's Box Through Assemblage.

Personally, I am quite a sucker for the minimal abstract and architectural feel of our boxes. But all the more so when they are covered with the beautiful Yves Klein-blue linen from @ratchford_fj .

Definitely my favourite colour. 👌

This assemblage is made with a series of boxes made for Dutch visual artist Joos van de Plas.

« Black Girl's Window » (1969), cadre de fenêtre en bois peint et collage de papiers imprimés découpés et objets divers, par la plasticienne Betye Saar. Artiste plutôt d’inspiration mystique, après l’assassinat de Martin Luther King Jr, le 4 avril 1968, Betye Saar introduit dans son travail des références au mouvement des droits civiques et à la question raciale. Art can be a wonderful catalyst for emotions. I remember my little thriller box that I invented after I found the background image (more in the alt text). Given the current political situation, I immediately realise who my fictitious muffin-baking princess would fill into cans and send to Mars without return ticket. :blobcatknife: 😈

Here's a sort of reintroduction post showing some recent-ish work.

I chose these examples because I don't think they need CWs, whereas some of my other work would, but the first image does have alcohol in it (hence the blur)

Finally the penny has dropped! I have an exhibition showcase at a rather conservative #embroidery festival. My #BiodiversityShrines are provocative in a region with farmers who spray pesticides twice when the soil is broken (their logic) and far too many people vote for Le Pen. My idea: I build them up as #archaeological #museum exhibits from the #future! #Subversive. Catch them by #beauty and #colours and when they are hooked ... bang! 😁 #EcoArt #ArtActivism #assemblage #activism #biodiversity
