boox.spaceLove making assemblages of finished boxes – thinking about David Rabinowitch's Box Through Assemblage. Personally, I am quite a sucker for the minimal abstract and architectural feel of our boxes. But all the more so when they are covered with the beautiful Yves Klein-blue linen from <a class="u-url mention" href="https://pixelfed.social/ratchford_fj" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@ratchford_fj</a> . boox.spaceA series of triple compartment slip-in boxes with lids for a new edition of artist books made by <a class="u-url mention" href="https://pixelfed.social/annesas." rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@annesas.</a> Each is made to hold a collection of three pairs of books. The books protrude at the front, which makes it easy to take them out and slip them back in. The title and the name of the artist are embossed blind on the side of the lid. Emeritus Prof Christopher MayThis week I've mainly been reading (no.8) This is a bit specialist, but its such a good book: Francesca Esmay +2's Object Lessons: Case Studies in Minimal Art (2021) is v.interesting insight into the machinations around the creation, sale & curation of <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/minimalart" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#minimalart</a> focusing on problems around a gift of works donated to the <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/Gugenheim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Gugenheim</a>. It looks technical, but sets out much wider issues about the nature of the creative process really well.
