Loki Gwynbleidd
[Quick intro – version Fr en dessous] So I'm Loki Gwynbleidd, because it's long I often just say Lokigwyn but in real life I'm the Ragondiable (the Devilish Coypu)! Behind my coypu avatar, I'm a cis white guy, rather shy, neuro-atypical (autodiag between ASD and ADHD, or both?) and a chronic pain sufferer. I live in a couple with a wonderful person and we keep 3 cats at home. I also like NEIPA and buckwheat pancakes.
Apart from that, I'm a multi-media artist who draws old visuals (mostly from the late 19th century) with anarchist ideas, which means they're ecologist, queer, anti-sexist, anti-capitalist and revolutionary. I sell them to make money, but I also give them away for free because I like art that circulates.

[Présentation] Je suis Loki Gwynbleidd, comme c’est long je dis souvent Lokigwyn mais en vrai je suis le Ragondiable ! Derrière mon avatar de ragondin, je suis un mec cis blanc, plutôt timide, neuro-atypique (autodiag entre TSA et TDAH, les deux?) et douloureux chronique. Je vis en couple avec une personne formidable et on garde 3 chats chez nous. Sinon j’aime aussi les NEIPA et les galettes de sarrasin.
À part ça je suis un artiste multi-supports qui dessine des visuels anciens (surtout fin XIXe) avec des idées anarchistes donc écolo, queers, antisexistes, anticapitalistes, révolutionnaires. Je les vends pour gagner de l’argent mais je les distribue gratuitement aussi parce que j’aime l’Art qui circule.

Trying out a new Gelli Plate Mono-printing technique that I learned this last weekend during a workshop class with an artist friend of mine. I am beyond ecstatic about this process, and while I’m still struggling to figure out how to incorporate it into my digital world, I can tell I’ll enjoy seeking solutions!

This piece used a simple feather as the main motif against large swaths of colored texture, but when I popped it into Procreate and started to play with incorporating some other bird-themed digital art I’d made over the past year the magic started to happen. I felt like this was meant to be!

It’s probably too busy, and the colors a bit too garish, but I think collaging imagery into interesting narratives might be a tool I want to use some more. There’s something about the “traditional” aspect to the art-making that grounds it for me and makes it more “substantive” somehow. It means more. To me.

So here’s my first attempt at melding my digital efforts and my new-found traditional efforts! I’m going to be sharing a LOT more of this in the future!!
