I obviously love the freedoms & possibilities things like 3D printing has brought us - but there's something special about the efficiencies & creativity of using found parts & available materials to make otherworldly & cool-looking things 🙌

This, the original, full-size ED-209, which STILL EXISTS! 🤯, is one of the best examples of that in all of film & SFX history 🤩

@chrisphin
I also recently saw #AdamSavage #Tested demonstrate a 3D printer pen.

Thinking back at a lifetime of odd little projects and fixes that would've been better served by laying down beads of melted plastic as opposed to hot glue, epoxy, etc.

All the times I didn't need it super pretty, I needed it to stay together - that's all. Oh, man.

Like, NEVER go hunting for the right sized grommet. Just SQUIRT one!

As you might have #guessed, the motor in my *other* furnace #failed last week.

I've removed it from the furnace and #tested it, and just like the first one, the motor itself checks out fine - no #electrical or #mechanical #problems at all.

The #electronics in it have failed. And only a few months after the other one. It's almost like they're #designed to #fail; otherwise, how could you make a ton of #money by #charging #monopoly prices for what is otherwise a #generic 1/2 HP motor?

Having failed at the alt text generation from a URL I decided to retest the JSON Schema that Bard had generated for me and true to my suspicions I can confirm that the Schema it created was based in the words in the URL not the words on the page at all.

Drat.
I built a test page with an object as the html name and filled the page, title, h1 and text with a different and unrelated keyword – Bard created JSON Schema based on the object in the URL and not the page content.

A judge in Washington issued an arrest warrant Thursday for a Tacoma woman who has refused to have her #active, #contagious case of #tuberculosis treated for over a year, violating numerous court orders.

The judge also upheld an earlier order to have her jailed, where she can be #tested and treated in #isolation.

On Thursday, the woman attended the 17th court hearing on the matter and once again refused a court order to isolate or comply with testing and treatment—an order that originally dates back to January 19, 2022.
