Australiassa #laki muuttui juuri niin, että erotilanteissa se, kelle #lemmikit päätyvät, ei määrity vain maksajan mukaan.

Asiaan vaikuttaa jatkossa myös se, kuka huolehtii lemmikistä; kävelyttää, ruokkii jne. Onko lemmikin parempi jäädä sitä hoitavan, ei sen omistavan ihmisen kanssa.

Imagine fleeing a wildfire, losing your home and on top of that having to abandon your pet!😢

"Many of Manitoba’s wildfire evacuees were forced to leave their animals behind due to limited space on evacuation planes.
Melanie Chudyk with the Manitoba Animal Alliance said the majority of pets remain in the evacuated communities and are being cared for by first responders.
She added her organization has sent supplies to these communities, with the goal of rescuing the animals in need of care and providing support to pet owners.
“The community of Cross Lake, for example, is a community of about 9,000 people,” she said." “Right now, there’s a couple hundred first responders still in the community who are taking care of thousands of animals.”

NEW: We’re waiving adoption fees for dozens of pigs, goats, and #farm #birds at Nevins Farm this weekend, June 7 and 8. The event follows the surrender of 147 #animals—#pigs, #goats, #chickens, #geese, #ducks, #cattle, #horses, #donkeys, and #dogs—from a single Franklin County property in April.

Now we’ve got more than 300 animals at Nevins, and we need really adopters to take some of them home in order to have space to help future animals who need us 1/

Roo The Kangaroo

It was a busy day for the Roo Crew. We have thick mats to help avoid injury to Roo's nubs since he hops on his chest. He developed a hygroma on one of his nubs when he was a pup by hopping hard on the stone tile.
The mama mopped the floor, the mats, and the dog toys. Everyone was well chuffed with nice clean things again.
It's bedtime and Lil Mans is out like a light, excited that dad's on vacation this week so it'll be non-stop fun! Goodnight everyone!
