@magnetic_tape @internetarchive it only misses #Dtheater support...
#Techmoan presents "The Sony'est of Sony devices", recalling a time when even major corporations would sometimes pull out all the stops to make a product they could be proud of...

Personally, I think #SlotMusic is okay and #SlotRadio is gimmicky, but apparently #Techmoan likes it because it's a way to #discover new #music and #artists...
But then again, 500-1.000 popular tracks for like $40 MSRP (or 4-8¢/track) is a bargain and had they not kneecapped it with #DRM and the limitations, it would've been "cheaper and more convenient than using #BitTorrent"...
But as #Techmoan showed, the idea of a "disposable rental" even existed with #VHS, and whilst #2View got literally #hacked by #clippy at least it's not complete #eWaste as people end up with a #reuseable 140min #Tape after it with allegedly just a little markup compared to a #rental and cheaper than buying a blank tape & renting a movie...

The Sony PS-F9 "Flamingo" is one of his great retro posts.
The Techmoan Effect has me looking at monoculars online. Would be great for gigs.
(I also like how “the missus” in Techmoan videos exists as on off-screen presence like Mrs Columbo or ‘Er Indoors).

This Videophone '93 review is one of many great retro posts.
@mediaarchaeologylab I'm sure #Techmoan has done a bot on that.
#Techmoan posted a video today about another strange format, this time discussing bird records. the player he was using was quite deadish shall we say, and it looped this portion of audio over and over again. He said 'someone should make a beat out of it' so I did just that. More fun with #Ableton #Note because why not?
One of my very favourite things on the internet is when Techmoan plays sultry porn music when peeling the protective plastic off the screen of the new device he's unboxing.
