This is the weirdest thing that I have read this month.

I agree with Lea, you should go out in the fresh air and talk to some normal people.

Some achievements of Unions that you also benefit from: higher wages, better benefits, safer workplaces, protection against unfair treatment, minimum wage, the 40-hour workweek, child labor laws, and various worker protections.

In several countries, unions achieve this by strategically working with management.

You’re not the only one struggling 💙

Amy joined Practically Speaking Hebrew after making sure it would meet her personal needs—and now she’s thriving.

This program was built for real people with real challenges:

🧠 Memory issues?
💫 ADHD?
🌈 On the spectrum?
🎓 Older learners?
🧩 Learning differences?

They’re not just learning—they’re succeeding.

Whatever you’re facing, you belong here. You CAN do this.

People in the Fediverse often say that #socialMedia without #algorithms that are programmed for profits let them feel calmer and better.
Algorithms of the big platforms can make people indeed ill. More and more influencers or social media #creators get #burnout symptoms: "There’s no off button in this job. The algorithms never stop. You can’t pause the internet." theguardian.com/media/2025/jul

When students share messages like this, it reminds me why I do what I do 💙

Sara messaged me at 6 AM:
“I instantly felt empowered…”
“It flowed well and naturally…”
“Your dedication is beyond anything I’ve experienced…”

She’s putting Hebrew sentences together—and it’s clicking.
That shift from overwhelm to confidence is everything.

This is what happens inside Practically Speaking Hebrew.

To Sara—thank you for trusting me. 💙

This is a test of a new feature, for my existing Rust program, for posting to the Fediverse. It's not much to look at, yet, lol. If this works, then just know that I literally sent this from the terminal by typing the path to said program, followed by the name of said function, followed by this message between double quotes. I guess, whether this works the first time or not, this is probably how these things usually start, huh? Gotta start somewhere. Fingers crossed. God, help us all.

EDIT: OH MY GOODNESS!

We all excel at something.

Donald Trump, for example, is a lifelong failure who excels at convincing bigger failures than himself that he’s a YUGE success. He has a knack for conning those who have a massive list of grievances. The same suckers and losers who are too lazy to change their own lives.

So, even a lifelong failure can be successful at something.

A quotation from Bertrand Russell

The root of the trouble springs from too much emphasis upon competitive success as the main source of happiness. I do not deny that the feeling of success makes it easier to enjoy life. A painter, let us say, who has been obscure throughout his youth, is likely to become happier if his talent wins recognition. Nor do I deny that money, up to a certain point, is very capable of increasing happiness; beyond that point, I do not think it does so. What I do maintain is that success can only be one ingredient in happiness, and is too dearly purchased if all the other ingredients have been sacrificed to obtain it.

Bertrand Russell (1872-1970) English mathematician and philosopher
Conquest of Happiness, Part 1, ch. 3 “Competition” (1930)
