I'm pretty sure they don't have snow plows in #Houston. When I was a school kid in Northern Virginia, #Fairfax County seemed to have a bare minimum fleet of snow plows. Back then, there weren't the expressways and such like they nowadays. There were mostly hilly winding narrow country roads. It didn't take much snow for things to grind to a halt: I had lots of #SnowDays lol

"You get to sleep in till, like, 10 a.m. if you're that tired, and you get to read books and cuddle with your pets, go outside sledding [and have] snowball fights," the Grade 6 student from Colorado Springs told As It Happens host Nil Kӧksal.

"And when you come back in, you get hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream."

I'll find out in November if I will get a spot at 2025 VISSA at Mt. Washington. I want to try out their adaptive Nordic program, if I get in. I also want to practice more sitski because I'm interested in doing races if I can get good enough to qualify for competitive racing in the future. I loved riding it down from the Eagle lift summit a few times when I was accepted into program in 2020.

I love Winter & being up on the mountains in snow. I just don't have many opportunities to go up mountains in snowy Winter.

Cold & slippery as f**k outside, this morning. Got our front walkway salted again. Waiting to hear from public works if services are still shutdown or if we need to put garbage bins out. Feeling bit grateful we don't have public sidewalk in front of our home or I'd have to shovel & salt that too(part of our bylaws). Have to reschedule more appointments today. I'm limiting my travels until more roads are cleared.
