The goal is to make the technique free and available to labs small and large, part of what Agar refers to as the "democratization of science."

I really liked this informal community poll and thematic analysis on SLO usage. It does a better job at highlighting the hurdles to adopting them at a Company Who Is Not Google than a lot of "Here's how to do SLOs" pieces that just don't cover it.

Did you know that for years, private research funds from Dan Doctorow, et al. were more than NIH budget? — and conventional economic impact analysis always "undercounts" aggregate impact because most sufferers are dead within five years of diagnosis, so prevalence is relatively low across population.
Hearing the news about Ady — and every other ALS death — absolutely sucks.
