Finished both seasons of #Andor + #RogueOne. Sticking with my belief since 2016 that RO is the strongest #StarWars production. Andor is high in my rankings, but IMO the second season wasn’t tight until the final 3 episodes. Also I still believe that Jyn is a more interesting character than Cassian, even after his development in Andor.

I am kind of fascinated by the father-daughter parallel between RO beginning with Galen and Jyn and ending with Vader and Leia. Also, the idea that the last 3 episodes of Andor, RO, and the first half of A New Hope happened across the span of a few days is a trip.

IMO part of Andor season 2 could have been spent on flashbacks to Jyn growing up under Saw Gerrera’s tutelage instead of wandering off as the season seems to into wheat fields around peripheral characters. I love Forest Whitaker’s performance in Godfather of Harlem, and he could’ve been better in an extended RO story.

After finishing #Andor, I went on a #RogueOne + #PrequelTrilogy marathon, and I have to say:

1. The prequel trilogy (PQ) did *not* age well. TBH I'm mainly drawn to aesthetics when watching movies; the PQ's CGI must have been a treat to watch back when they were a technical achievement, but now everything looks sooo cheap. I already thought Andor was gorgeous, but watching the PQ made me appreciate it even more.

2. For a galaxy with tens of thousands of star systems, people sure run around each other *a lot*. What a coincidence that the droids (R2D2 and C3PO) that witness so much stuff that happens to Anakin and Padme (PQ) are the same droids that Leia transmits the death star's plans to (ep. IV)! What a coincidence that the super remote planet that they land on (Tatooine, ep. 4) is Anakin and C3PO's birth place, where Luke and Obi-Wan Kenobi now live! What a coincidence that ep. V's Boba Fett is the "son" of the original model for the clone army (ep. II)! etc.

Someone stole the DeathStar plans to send to the Rebels.
✅ The story of "#RogueOne"

Someone stole details on the Empire's strategy to establish fascist rule.
✅ The story of "#StarWars #Andor"

Someone leaked Imperial msgs explaining the real reasons for ops in Ghorman & Jedha.
❌ The story of...???

After Andor I watched Rogue One again.

Why did Director Krennick go to see Vader in Rogue One ?

The dialogue and story didn't explain.. to me at least.

I know Tarkin took the death star from him, but that didn't seem the issue to correct with Vader?

If you watch from Rogue One straight into A New Hope, it's weird because Leia's ship pops out of a larger ship and escapes, and then the droids pop out of her ship and escape. They should have had R2D2 get captured and then had a smaller droid pop out of him and run away across the desert.

Maybe in the 50th anniversary remaster.
