#palestineaction engaged in non-violent non-destructive action against a military target to advance a political goal. #terrorism is the use of violence against civilian targets to advance a political goal. It cannot be stressed enough that what PA did was the opposite of terrorism if that word still means anything. Starmer has sipped from the cup of false majority authoritarianism and he likes it. The UK needs #ProportionalRepresentation desperately.

At first I was annoyed that the CBC published this first-person story from an Alberta separatist.

But he said: “I studied political science at the University of Northern British Columbia in Prince George and learned we've never had true proportional representation…”

Once again, Justin Trudeau's betrayal of “the last FPTP election” and rejection of Proportional Representation in 2015 led to the alienation felt today.

CBCFIRST PERSON | I was proud to be Canadian. Now I support separatism for Alberta | CBC NewsCalgary resident Gord Larson supports the separatist movement in Alberta. But that wasn’t always the case. When the trucker convoy and other protesters first set out to get the attention of Ottawa, he felt tremendously proud of his country.

There must be plenty of annoyed people who voted for what they thought was a centre-left party, only to see it become a right-wing party in weeks.

Or people who voted "strategically" (and not for their preferred left-wing party) to keep out a right-wing party, only to get one anyway.

The only way to get what you want is to vote for what you want. Vote "strategically" for something you don't want, and you'll GET something you don't want.

We need #ProportionalRepresentation.

This was so brilliant yesterday.
I learned so much.
Always learn from Pilon's lefty historical perspective and Coyne has been #ProportionalRepresentation 's most eloquent advocate imo for 30 years.
As our politics becomes more polarized, important to note that FPtP can elect an extremist majority gov like in the US but #ProportionalRepresentation cannot.

The united Conservative Party was supposed to win elections. By attempting to appease all types of conservative this big tent party scares away voters who do not like all types of conservatism.

Canada’s conservatives would win more elections if they offered voters a range of options and hammered out formal coalitions.

The Hub · Paige Saunders and Sean Speer: The contrarian case for why Conservatives should embrace electoral reformBy Paige Saunders and Sean Speer

"Our politics are far, far. far less toxic in Australia...because there are other outlets."

"...Dr. Zeitz is joined by Vinay Orekondy, an Australian-born... democracy innovator… Together, they unpack the failures of winner-takes-all politics, the transformational potential of... #ProportionalRepresentation, and... civic hubs…" (at 6:06)

Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen an incredible wave of momentum. From vibrant community talks in Sacramento and panel presentations in Phoenix, to exciting chapter meetings in the East Bay and Los Angeles; ProRep Coalition has been working hard to bring people together to realize a more representative democracy in California. Whether it was your first time joining us or you’ve been with us since the beginning, your energy and commitment are what keep this movement moving forward. Looking ahead, we’re excited to keep the momentum going. We’ve got a powerful lineup of events this month—including two local chapter meetings in LA and Sacramento, a conversation with Professor Lorelei Moosbrugger in Santa Barbara, and community canvassing with ProRep's East Bay chapter on No Kings Day in Oakland. These gatherings are more than just events—they’re opportunities to connect, strategize, and build the grassroots power we need to win real change in California. Please see a handful of highlights from some of our recent events below, as well as invitations to some of the upcoming events we have planned this next month.
