🥥 Trump rants on social media that he wants to get rid of the US penny.
After the Kansas City Chiefs -- Trump's
pick to win -- were badly thumped at the Superbowl, he ranted on social media that the US should stop making pennies.
When US-ians make it clear that a penny is worth more than Trump is, he may back off on that idea like he's backed off on tariffs with Canada and Mexico.

Palmer Report · "Whose idea was it to ruin the Game?" – Donald Trump has angry meltdown after bailing on Super Bowl...

The US penny will no longer be minted after 233 years of having been done so. First introduced in 1792 and starting in 2025 it will no longer be minted, but of course still be in circulation for a while to come.

What are your thoughts on this?

Personally, I think this is something we should have done decades ago, along with at least the nickel and possibly even the dime.

I'd also be quite ok if we got rid of coins and cash completely, but I'm afraid that's not possible for many reasons.

It's likely been 15+ years since I had a single coin in my possession and I have no plans to change that any time soon. Oddly, I don't have paper bills in my possession either and haven't for several years and plan to keep it that way as well.

PENNY & SPARROW Releases Their New Album Lefty

Critically acclaimed indie folk duo, Penny & Sparrow are thrilled to release their new album Lefty that is out now on all platforms.

The band says, “We made Lefty 20 tracks long and gave ourselves acreage of song space to experiment. We wanted to record a double album for the challenge of it, and also for the chance to be sonically rangy and eccentric. The idea of offering all sorts of sounds, structures, melodies, and lyrical approaches in 20 songs was creatively exciting to us, so we did it.

“We helped build a recording studio in a buddy’s old toolshed and we made most of the record inside it. There were a few field trips to bigger studios in Florence, AL (Portside & SunDrop) but most of Lefty came from that retrofitted garden shed. We wanted to hold genre lightly and take a less curated approach to Lefty, so we followed our noses and made every song we wanted to along the way.

Lefty is a long collection of both real and made up things. We wrote poetry, true stories, literary fan fiction, horror, erotica, slice-of-life vignettes, dream scenarios, saloon conversations, elegies, a toast, a few confessions and at least two love letters. All of them belong together because each one is an extension of us, of the things we love. We are the ties that bind Lefty.”

Penny & Sparrow produced the entire record with a few songs co-produced by their dear friend, Jonathan Oliphant.

The album highlights the duo’s ability to craft a distinctive “indie acoustic” sound while seamlessly blending elements from various genres due to their exceptional songwriting skills.

In support of the new album, the band has announced Lefty Spring 2025 Tour. The tour kicks off in April 2025. Tickets are on sale now https://pennyandsparrow.os.fan/.

Ready for another duo in Hebrew that has entirely different meaning based on the syllable that is stressed?

To say, they are DIVORCED, We use the Hebrew word /g-roo-'sheem/, in Hebrew with no Nikkud and we stress the last syllable in that word.

To say that something is super inexpensive, it barely costs anything, it costs "pennies", native Israelis say /g-'roo-shem/, stressing the second to last syllable.

Now, this is not just a random word. It is the plural form of the/g-'roosh, old "penny" currency that was used in the region.

If you're new around here, welcome! And make sure to hop on board and start using my game-changing phonetic system (PSP) that allows you to read, write, and say every word in Hebrew correctly, like a true Israeli.

This weeks #Lego #FossilFriday is #Penny the #Polycotylid #Plesiosaur

In 1989, Mr Ian Ievers was feeding cattle near his homestead on Marathon Station, near Richmond Queensland. He found a rostrum in a dried creek bank. He and his brother removed some soil and found the rest of the skull and some neck vertebra.

Later that year, a team from the Queensland Museum excavated the fossils. It turned out to be one of the most complete fossils of a polycotylid in Australia.
