I love every app out of (Not Boring) Software. Compared to the whole industry, Andy’s whimsy and attention to detail are on another level, so you can imagine how delighted I was when he launched (Not Boring) Camera.

Similar to Mood.Camera, (Not Boring) Camera provides a variety of styles with a tasteful amount of film-like noise. However, (Not Boring) Camera’s styles provide much deeper personality, like all of Andy’s apps. Referred to as “3D LUTs,” they provide “professional-level color grading,” and seem to touch every aspect of an image, all the way down to the way light itself interacts with the scene. In short, (Not Boring) Camera is accomplishing something more than just slapping a filter on top of an existing image.

And then there’s the interface, a whimsical, fun interface that provides everything professional camera apps offer in an almost toy-like presentation. As with all of Andy’s apps, the whimsical UI is not only a joy to use, it also makes these more professional features far more intuitive than other apps in its category. I knew what to do the moment I picked it up, or at least the moment I touched every single inviting button, toggle, and dial. By the way, you can customize all of the colors.

Like I did with Mood.Camera, (Not Boring) Camera is now what I use to capture anything that catches my eye, an extension of Noticing Things, but it might even replace the default Camera app for shots that I want to take the time to properly frame and compose. Time will tell, but I’m definitely leaning in favor of (Not Boring) Camera.
