I was not at all prepared for the number of friends with chronic and/or terminal illnesses, nor the number of funerals, that middle age would bring. This fall has been... a lot.
#rpg #ttrpg #magic #wizard #history #middleage Ars Magica is an awesome TTRPG based on the premise of taking the middle age of year 1200s (in Europe), but assuming magic is a thing and most of what people at the time believed is true.
It includes the most flexible magic system in an RPG (rules to design spells, get your character to invent it or make it up on the go, etc).
The crowdfunding for the definitive edition of the system is under-way, join us !

I got told by my kids today that #MiddleAge is between the ages of 38 and 45. I asked where they got this precise information from and they said it was just what they thought based on how adults behave.
I asked whether this meant 46 was #OldAge and they nodded and smiled as if this was the most obvious thing in the world.
Their dad has been 46 for all of 3 weeks. I’m fast catching up, should I be scared?
I'm afraid I've reached the age where buying non-alcoholic beer non-ironically is a choice I'm going to make. Not because I have a drinking problem—or rather, i've reached a point in my non-alcoholism where my body is increasingly intolerant of small amounts of alcohol. (Primarily sleep disturbance)
Anybody know any good #nonalcoholic #brews? #beer #middleage
TIL that low estrogen also affects the elasticity of tendons and can contribute to hip and joint pain.
Gotdammit. I'm gonna have to take some collagen pills, aren't i?
Thanks, #perimenopause. Yet another thing to love. #MiddleAge is bullshit.

Caught a quick glance at myself in a store window while I was driving and I had the sinking realization that I've finally become the middle-aged, "midlife crisis sports car" guy that I have always heretofore kind of chuckled at internally (even though I've only ever owned sports cars for the last 20 years). "Cool" me has left the building, y'all.
Happy Monday, eh?
Older women can use our age invisibility as camouflage to get good shit done!
If you aren't perimenopausal and your entire dermis doesn't feel like tiny fairy legs are skittering all over it *then count yourself effing lucky because this bullshit is madness.*
It's like I'm trapped in a Poe story where the heroine goes insane because SHE ITCHES ALL OVER, EVEN HER SCALP AND EARS.
