A statue of the Glaswegian broadcaster, writer, climber and all round outdoor enthusiast Tom Weir at Balmaha on the banks of Loch Lomond. Unveiled in 2014 to mark the centenary of his birth, it was created by the sculptor Sean Hedges-Quinn.

It seems impossible to say that he’s gone. My beautiful boy Stitch, 21.5 years old. An amazing long time for a cat, but still not nearly long enough. We did everything, everything we could and kept him comfortable the past few days.
End of an era, as he was the last of his litter. He outlived his beautiful brother Lilo by just over 4 years which we thought was impossible then, and his other 2 littermates by quite some margin. He was an adventurer!

The War Memorial Cottage in Gartcosh just to the east of Glasgow. Designed by Gavin Lennox, it was built as a memorial nurses home, and features two plaques listing the names of local residents who died in World War I (on the left hand gate pillar) and World War II (on the right hand one).
