Out and about on Leith. A gloriously sunny day!

A colour photograph of a stone building in Leith. At both the left and right hand edges are chimney stacks. Below the right chimney is a stone wall and the gable end, strongly illuminated by the sun. The front of the building, from the centre to the left, is in deep shadow.

There is a pointed pole in front of the building towards the left supporting cables providing power to the trams, and two such cables slant diagonally from top right to bottom left of the picture.

Behind the building and filling much of the picture is the cloudless, intense blue sky, in the middle of which the half-moon is just visible.

A colour photograph of a modern office building in Leith. The building occupies most of the picture. The building is glass-fronted, with vertical steel supports, and horizontal steel struts which do not appear to have a function.

The strong sunlight hitting the building causes alternating bright and shadowed areas, the shadows caused by the struts.

The reflections of people walking on the street can be seen in the glass, although the people themselves are not in the photo.

Above the building to the right is a patch of intense blue sky.

Australian 'fiasco' ferry ordered to leave Edinburgh.

The #SpiritOfTasmania IV has been docked in #Leith in #Scotland for three months due to issues with existing infrastructure in the Tasmanian city of Devonport. The ship’s too big. #FFS

A new berth to accommodate the ship, and sister vessel Spirit of Tasmania V, may not be ready until late 2026 or 2027.
