Australian farmers pushed around by #BigPharma for cows, #FertilizerIndustry and the government. to do really weird thing with the poop of their animals.
Just as long as they buy and borrow their shit. On governments orders.
When doing it smart costs far less, gives better yeald and finally convinces the government.

This is the next big step in scaling Interceptor deployments worldwide: our 30 Cities Program to cut ocean plastic pollution from rivers by up to one-third by 2030.
“When we take on an entire city, instead of individual rivers, we can scale faster, reduce costs, and maximize impact,” said Boyan Slat, Founder and CEO of The Ocean Cleanup."
The Ocean Cleanup will now expand in: Panama City
Mumbai
Manila
Montego Bay
Jakarta
Kuala Lumpur
Bangkok
Los Angeles
…and 22 other cities, to be announced soon!

Surveys show that the increasing number of extreme climate events, including floods, wildfires and hurricanes, has not raised awareness of the threats posed by climate change. Instead, people change their idea of what they see as normal. This so-called “boiling frog effect” makes gradual change difficult to spot.

"Climate change is an existential problem of planetary proportions."
"The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has issued a historic advisory opinion that could reshape the global legal landscape for climate action, declaring that States have binding duties under international law to protect the climate system and that a failure to take appropriate measures may constitute an internationally wrongful act."
"The ICJ also addressed the oceans, affirming that anthropogenic GHG emissions qualify as “pollution of the marine environment” under UNCLOS, triggering obligations for States to “take all measures… necessary to prevent, reduce and control pollution.”

Countries must prevent harm to the climate system and tackle fossil fuels to ensure the right to life.
"...The international court of justice (ICJ) said countries must prevent harm to the climate system and that failing to do so could result in their having to pay compensation and make other forms of restitution."
"The unanimous opinion covers a wide range of matters under international law. It says states are liable for all kinds of activities that harm the climate, but it takes explicit aim at fossil fuels. It says that a state’s failure to take appropriate action to protect the climate system from greenhouse gas emissions, including through the production and consumption of fossil fuels, the granting of fossil fuel exploration licences or the provision of fossil fuel subsidies, “may constitute an international wrongful act which is attributable to that state”.
"The court said a clean, healthy and sustainable environment was a precondition for exercising many human rights, such as the right to life, the right to health and the right to an adequate standard of living, including access to water, food and housing."

The Klamath River now flows free for hundreds of miles from Southern Oregon to the ocean. But after the largest dam removal project in the U.S., challenges remain. Water shortages in the upper basin fuel toxic bacteria, disease outbreaks and conflicts over endangered fish as salmon swim upstream for the first time in a century."

In this region of Sweden, people have been working with iron for over 2,000 years. Back then, it gave the people who lived here new tools, trade, and technology. Today, in the same region, steel is still being made, but it's now used in wind turbines, electric vehicles, and the clean energy transition.
But, steel makes up 7% of global CO2 emissions. And even the “clean” steel isn’t fully clean. Even electric arc furnaces, which use electricity to melt steel, still burn fossil fuels for one last step. But this steel plant has figured out how to cut that too.
Here at Ovako’s Hofors facility, a world-first innovation is eliminating the last fossil fuels from the electric arc furnace – by reheating the steel not with gas, but with hydrogen, made and burned on site. From ancient forges to hydrogen flames – this is what the future of low-emission steel looks like."

The greatest threat to energy security today is fossil fuels. They leave economies and people at the mercy of price shocks, supply disruptions and geopolitical turmoil.
The cost-competitiveness of renewables is today’s reality. New renewable power outcompetes fossil fuels on cost, offering a clear path to affordable, secure and sustainable energy.
