Some Canadian schools suspend or cancel U.S. field trips amid trade war

British Columbia’s largest school district in Surrey has put all its field trips down south on hold to prevent any “negative experiences at the border,” while New Brunswick’s largest French school district abruptly cancelled a high school band trip as a “precautionary decision.”
Mark Pearmain, Surrey’s district superintendent, said the city is “diverse” with many students from different backgrounds, including some who may not be Canadian citizens.

Frustrating to see #GlobalNews play a portion of the Danielle Smith interview on right-wing ‘news’ outlet Breitbart, where she bragged about asking the US admin to pause the implementation of the tariffs, but omit the bit where she specifically says that she asked for this in order to benefit #Poilievre’s chances of winning.

Once again, on #cbc, rutledge, the #conservative rep, sides with dump, says that #canada is weak.
Thinks we buy that dump doesn’t like Pp - it’s like watching an adult make a presentation about why santa will come through the chimney.
I gave up subscribing to the Edmonton Journal and Sun when they started being filled more and more with national columnists, many not from/in Alberta, and less and less location news/information content.
Just this week I happened to glance at a newspaper rack for the first time in years and was STUNNED to see both dailies physically smaller than a typical #CanadianTire weekly sales flyer. 
@CAWguy it fascinates me that the people who want to cancel #education, #healthcare, #cbc, #infrastructure, #culture, #trudeau and #cdnmedia are accusing anyone of “cancel culture”.
That’s before you learn the history of #woke, of course.
