Tonight: rock and roll is alive and well. MJ Lenderman first of three deserved sold out shows at Brooklyn Steel. Brought out mayoral candidate Zohran to hype up the crowd, walked out to YLT's Ohm, then crushed their set. Cool shit all around.
Tonight: early stop at Cafe Ornithology in Bushwick. Been digging Charlie Ballantine's new record quite a bit, so was glad for it to work out to catch him play and... Very very impressive young guitar player. Wonderful tone and an adventurous melodic spirit. Little Julian Lage in him. I do believe I will be seeing this guy whenever I get a chance. Me + one other guy here enjoying this amazing early Mon set in a cool out-of-the-way spot.
