Business? Mankind was my business. The common welfare was my business; charity, mercy, forbearance, benevolence, were all my business. The dealings of my trade were but a drop of water in the comprehensive ocean of my business!~ Jacob Marley

My vote for the best telling of the Scrooge tale, is the 1951 version staring Alastair Sim.

“I was a boy here” is one of my favorite lines.
Xmas Future is always scary, isn't it? Never a Star Trek utopia....
Discussing the genetics of the Kermit, Piggy family and how you are either pig or frog, not a barely viable mix of the two.
Also, my wife notes, Pigs are female and Frogs are male......
Watching the Muppets Christmas Carol and wondering if the Oligarchs will ban this next year as 'terrorism'
Micheal Caine's Scrooge is truly top tier Scrooge

Exploring the filming locations of A Christmas Carol (1984), here in delightful Shrewsbury. Here is the film prop gravestone of Ebeneezer Scrooge still in situ in St Chad’s Graveyard (recently restored after vandalism). #scrooge #dickens #gravestone #AChristmasCarol #christmas #film #cinema #alttext
Pues en menos de dos horas estaré interpretando a Scrooge en una obra breve de teatro.

Gonzo does an excellent job as Charles Dickens and I would love to see him presented as a narrator/ story guide in more Muppet movies/ projects. Also, Michael Cain does a fantastic job as Scrooge.
Honestly, A Muppet Christmas Carol is my favorite adaptation of A Christmas Carol. Like, there are many decent adaptations and many terrible ones, but I feel the Muppets do the best job of staying pretty close to the original source material while having it also be a fun romp.

In 2008, when I wrote A Christmas Peril, the scenario it described, of the melting of the north pole, seemed comfortably distant. But today it feels scarily close.

A fusion of A Christmas Carol and The Night Before Christmas, this poem was intended as a timely, cautionary tale about Climate. Also, a foot in the door to discuss Climate Change with family and friends.
A few sample lines are shown here, but you need to click through to the full poem to see the rest, which is available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and which has audio readings in each of those.
Please read, discuss and share with family and friends! Perhaps make it part of your holiday festivities.
This week's theme is #ChristmasTrees.

A copy of "A Christmas Carol" just fell on my toe… It hurts like the Dickens.
(It's #HootinTootinTuesday again! Post some jokes or funny memes under this hashtag today, and bring lots of smiles to #Mastodon.)
I wonder what chronic illness Tiny Tim had in A Christmas Carol that could be survivable if his family had more income?
Did he have rickets? Some other vitamin or mineral deficiency that affected his bones? Tuberculosis?
