I know we have more important things going on right now, but if you ever wondered about where clip art came from, this video has interviews with the original clip art designers.
"Art still exist for us to contribute to. This isn't an invitation to go out and make your own clip art, but it's an invitation to look at it the next time you see it and really appreciate it. Not like a grocery store sticker, but as a piece of art."

Like, in 1994 someone said "hrmm. Yeah, I could someone including this in a Crystal Reports, a Harvard Graphics or a Micrograpfx Designer page".

....okay, yeah... I was thinking about this while browsing a porn site.
1/ I gave #AI another try. My previous experiences with #Microsoft's ChatGPT (both as a writing assistant & research tool) were rife with problems. But I thought perhaps a different corporate overlord might produce different results.
I tried using #Google BingAI, which uses #DaLLE image generation. It was my first time using any visual AI. I had used #ChatGPT a few times, but found it too untrustworthy.
I asked the #BingAI app to create some #artwork. One was just to help me visualize a "tooth fairy" character for a #WIP; the other was to replace existing #blog #clipart with images that are more specific to the story and less generic.
The eyes on all were extremely weird & unnatural.
One "tooth fairy" was cross-eyed; most had eyes that were more anime-sized than realistic. The smiles on all the "tooth fairies" were WAAYY too huge, & their expressions were always more "creepy" than "cute." Until I specified gray hair (and even after I did so), it kept giving me only blonde women.
