Adobe keeps trying to push their customers away, their customers keep staying. Weird.

I don't want to be the evil villain in the room, but #GamePass is going to be as high as a new "AAA" game a month.
Why? The value proposition. You can play all games you want in a single month for the price of one great game, or have only one game forever.
Once #Xbox Game Pass stops growing, that's the growth alternative. Line must always go up.

'The Federal Trade Commission had voted in a rule that would make it easier to cancel subscription services, but the start of that rule has been pushed back until July 14. Initially, the regulation — called the Negative Option Rule — went into effect on January 19, but certain provisions weren’t set to kick in until May 14. These provisions would require companies to make it as easy to cancel a subscription as it is to sign up.'
Nice move @trakt. $60/yr?! Guess it’s time to leave.
Grandfathering doesn’t mean anything now. Companies just want more and more.

Pick 3, and/ or reply with others. I just pulled these off the top of my head and can only list 4. I would have included Criterion if I could post more choices.

Still finding it amusing that #BlueSky was all about being a better, "#decentralized" #SocialNetwork, where you could get away from the #enshittification and corporate bullshit that was making all #SocialMedia bad, but they aren't even decentralized, and don't have any sort of feature to move outside of their walled garden, and already are talking about #ads and #subscriptions.
Like, people have already bought domains for this, already built sign ups for those domains, already invested in the server infrastructure for hosting servers for what is basically someone else's social network, in anticipation of some sort of #Fediverse-like decentralization, something that has not been implemented beyond a box diagram as far as we know... And here we are, watching them implement ads and subscriptions, something which would be undermined by that, instead of just doing that.
At this point, I'm feeling pretty confident about my earlier assertions that "#BSky" might be Bullshit.
Why it just might get easier to get rid of subscriptions you no longer want:
