“As part of Jessica Ekomane’s exhibition “Antechamber”, KW and Berlin Artistic Research Programme present a special late-evening event featuring a conversation and three concerts. Transforming Ekomane’s sound installation in KW’s attic into a space for communal experiences, the program expands on the themes embedded in her work—framing sound as a social practice through the act of gathering and listening together.

The night begins with a conversation between Ekomane and critical theorist Antonia Majaca, exploring the politics of rhythm, alternative temporalities, and the transformative potential of sound. Following the conversation, the evening brings together Ekomane’s peers for three consecutive performances that relate to one another, exploring the concert format as a medium that allows for alternative sonic treatments of time and space.”

What hit me out of the blue is that "The Box with the Sound of its Own Making" is ultimately one of the most accurate portraits of a 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴, particularly in their capacity to miss their mark — yet being able to convey the process of becoming themselves only in that exact fashion. Acousmatic design, if treated right, might offer a way out in the age of apathy

Very good to see @Mobile Radio on the Fediverse! If you're a fan of radio art, that means location-based radio performances and broadcasts, you should follow Sarah Washington and Knut Aufermann there! The two are founding members of London's resonance.fm btw.!

I’ve enjoyed the music and sonic art of John Grzinich for many years now, going way back to his work from the late 1990s/early 2000s: much of it is immersive, extended compositional work that borrows respectfully from—and somehow gives back to—its environment.

John has a 25% discount code for #BandcampFriday today and for the rest of March - spring25
