Hasta ahora me ha gustado todo lo que ha presentado Addison Rae. Sin embargo, el convencimiento que me ha producido es insuficiente para que me quede con ella. No repeat.
La artista ha ido recogiendo distintas gamas de pop retro para componer unas canciones con pocas faltas y con idéntico nivel de pegada. A veces sucede así. No hay grandes fallas, solo falta eso. "Eso". Un rayo. Un flash.
Headphones on renueva este punto acercándose más que nunca al sí absoluto. ¿Qué tono pop ha tocado ahora la artista? Los noventa.
El pop de los noventa pasó por varias fases hasta que al final derivó en el posbakalao (el europop en el viejo continente) y el pop puro o directo o comoqueramos a nivel internacional (las Spice, la primera Britney...).
Un poco de esto último está en la estructura de Headphones, por eso se tiende a pegar más que los sencillos anteriores, la estructura lo facilita. Pero hay más, hay visos de Sade y de Janet en el tema que le aportan los polvos mágicos. Esto correspondería más a la primera parte de aquella época, hasta el noventa y seis aprox.
Janet es una megaestrella siempre opacada por su hermano, pero su influencia (a Britney sin salirnos del eje que esbozamos) es muy larga. Merecidamente larga.
Además, también tiene una fragancia a Morcheeba (Tape Loop, World Looking In) o la primera Macy Gray (sí, la misma que dedicó una canción a su querida picha de goma), a, salvando las distancias de género y espaciotiempo, temas como A Moment to Myself o Boo.
Puede parecer con esto que la joven ha hecho trampa usando buenos ingredientes, que evitó arriesgar. Ni mucho menos. Recuerden que la gracia está en saber combinarlos, cocinarlos y presentarlos.

Mezclando lo mejor de Butterfly y Cupid's Girl (y lo peor de esta última), pone toda su magia dentro de ese caldero brujeril que es Cuntissimo, que recoge el sello de la artista exagerado sin miedo. Doblando la apuesta.

Es esta una canción recargada, como le gustan a ella, bailable, tarareable, rebosante, pero sin abusar. Marina la recorre feliz, como pez en el agua, una canción a medida de su visión y seguro de la de sus fanses. Hasta qué punto atraerá a nueva gente está por ver, pero con un sonido tan personal y una duración tan poco mainstream lo tiene crudo.
La parte electro queda bastante relegada a la base, algo vulgar, muy corriente. Sin embargo, en el resto sirve. Es el tema que Gwen nunca tuvo el cuntissimo de hacer. Marina canta, barroca, reforzada por los arreglos de cuerdas tirando de una imperdible letra camp (Push up bra in my diamonds
gift from my ex husband), deliberada y deliciosamente superficial y pop. Algo que remarca el coro aniñado (como el de Butterfly) que repite el título.

Con lo que unas personas saquen de un lado y otras de otro completamos el puzle existencial. Al menos osaremos intentarlo, que es lo que llevamos haciendo como especie desde que nos autopercibimos.
Así he ido asimilando Te hago un resumen, el EP de los Cupido, esa formación ya imprescindible entre Agorazein e Hidrogenesse. Entre sus proyectos y personalidades por separado y la imprevisible suma del conjunto, nunca exacta, nunca la misma.
No es este su trabajo más brillante, sí un ensanche de sus posibilidades, como ese acercamiento Sadness a los riffs playeros (Dentro de mi cabeza).
Espaguetis con tomate cumple como intro con creces. Deja con ganas de más electrónica, quizá yendo hacia el chill. Presenta a las mil maravillas este corto, especialmente con esa manera de cantar sosteniendo notas finales para que hagan la vez de ganchos sonoros.
Luego, La máquina es un paso para crecer por otro lado. Queda bien. No sé si es lo que se les requiere. Desde luego no les importa y por eso está ahí. Lo celebro aunque a mis listas ni se va a asomar.
Son las tres últimas pistas las más destacables. La percu trotona de Me arrepiento desde el inicio, ya en modo estribillo, es un golpe sobre la mesa. Luego los pegadizos "como tú" culminando en un silencio, luego la guitarra que se reencuetra con la base de nuevo, a trotar. Chasqueo de dedos.

Y la pista homónina. Canela ese teclado sonando a un Casio SA-1. Canela esa Uzi (un arma) en la letra. La letra entera. La melodía tan de Los Brincos. El criterio pop con el que se empasta todo. Forma y fondo. Otro hit.
