Going to try and do the 365 day photo challenge of 2025 that @andrewmelder proposed a few days ago.

This is day 1 and it's a photo of my 16 year old kitty, Bess, resting and being lazy, like she normally does.

"Sigh, I'm just a shell of who I used to be"-- mopey Cicada, probably

(note: dialogue is fiction, the Cicada has neatly abandoned that shell, no bugs were harmed in the making of this macro)

I think the male Ruby-throats I was hosting have departed, but I've still got a flock of females moving through.

I started to photo the Cardinals again today because it's the Mom's turn again to babysit the fledglings, & she took both of them to the feeder together to fuel up, too cute, but... when the "meep" bird (Great Crested Flycatcher) ventures out of the shadows instead of hiding in the dark to make sinister meep/beeping sounds... I have to turn my camera there

This bird's mate likes to pretend to have a broken wing, this one just runs around a bit

i presume there is a nest/eggs somewhere but i just grab & go because this spot is right on Highway 22 & i don't want the broken-wing guy to run into traffic, borb already doesn't really seem to notice how busy the street is

For Project 365, you try to take a photo a day, but you are not required to upload the photo that same day. I finally got around to uploading this one for March 12. I don't have a landscape lens, this was taken with my phone.

it's terrible, i focused on the leaves not the flowers but i look forward to watching my progress over the course of the year
