The Eurasian Jay (Garrulus glandarius) grows up to 35 cm tall and has a wingspan of up to 58 cm. It is a member of the corvid family and feeds on acorns, caterpillars and seeds. Jays are good vocal mimics and warn forest dwellers of danger.

ℹ️ Der Eichelhäher (Garrulus glandarius) wird bis zu 35 cm groß und bekommt eine Spannweite von bis zu 58 cm. Er gehört zur Familie der Rabenvögel und ernährt sich u.a. von Eicheln, Raupen und Sämereien. Eichhäher sind gute Stimmenimitatoren und warnen die Waldbewohner vor Gefahren. Eine der größten Stahlfabriken Europas steht in den Niederlanden #TataSteel, ein unglaublicher #Klimaverschmutzer. Geschmolzen wird mit Kohle die unter schrecklichen sozialen und Umweltbedingungen in Südamerika gewonnen wird. Anwohner haben Lungenprobleme wegen des Feinstaubs aus den Hochöfen.

Bei einem genehmigten Protest gegen die Fabrik hat ein Politiker der rechtsradikalen #Wilders-Partei jetzt einen Aktivisten bewusst mit dem Auto angefahren. Die Polizei blieb teilnahmslos daneben stehen.

ℹ️ Die Nilgans (Alopochen aegyptiaca) wird bis zu 73 cm groß und bekommt eine Spannweite von bis zu 135 cm. Sie ernährt sich u.a. von Gräsern, Samen und Blättern. Ursprünglich war die Nilgans in fast ganz Afrika beheimatet, aber durch entflohene Tiere aus Haltungen sind sie auch hier beheimatet.

📝 Finally I was able to photograph a kingfisher. I really like the colours of this "diamond".
ℹ️ The kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) grows up to 19.5 cm and has a wingspan of up to 25 cm. It feeds mainly on fish, but also on insects and tadpoles.

📝 Endlich konnte ich mal einen Eisvogel fotografieren. Ich mag die Farben von diesem „Diamanten“ sehr und den englischen Namen „Königfischer“.

ℹ️ Der Eisvogel (Alcedo atthis) wird bis zu 19,5 cm groß und bekommt eine Spannweite von bis zu 25 cm. Er ernährt sich vor allem von Fischen, aber auch von Insekten und Kaulquappen. 🏆 1973 und 2009 war der Eisvogel in Deutschland Vogel des Jahres.
