Now with eight 32x8 flexible #NeoPixel #LED mateicies & just one signal clearing 330 ohm resistor controlled by one @raspberrypi Pico 2W w/CircuitPytbon, an @adafruit Vl53l1x Time of Flight sensor, & PVM5102 DAC w/speaker out. Will tweak sound & animation & add at least two more pillars w/new tone ranges. Ideas for diffusion? I’ll wait til I get the final fab done but will absolutely post a build tutorial. youtube.com/shorts/iTfHW93_Xi8

Was looking through some old files -- here's a layout I made for a word clock that attempts to fit the time (in five minute increments), "happy birthday", and "its bin day" in the smallest amount of space. Words may be horizontal, vertical or diagonal but should read quite well.

I probably won't ever make one but if you've got #arduino or #neopixel experience you probably could.

The LED picture frame is done!

I reinforced the sides with some aluminium angle-bracket, as they were being pulled inwards by the tension of the fabric. I also gave the fabric a nice steam, and bent some aluminium strip into a hanger so that it could hang off the side of the kitchen.

It looks pretty good IRL, the LEDs themselves are kind of visible when looked at straight on but I don't really mind that.

And my wifi enabled #neopixel drum is complete 😀

The ESP8266 Wemos D1's are great little boards and only cost around four quid on ebay.
I'm impressed with WLED.
You just download the software to the board, connect it to WiFi and then download the App to your phone and you can make the lights do anything you want.
It doesn't even want your email!
My camera swamps out the colour. You'll just have to believe me when I say it looks really good 👍
