They say a principle is only a principle if it costs you something. Well the first week of my #USboycott meant I missed a match on Amazon where my team #Arsenal won 7-1. So it goes. On the plus side, we had to try an alternative to #Heinz beans. #Branston beans are so much better. Not just a little, but much, much better. Why have I wasted so much of my life drooling over Heinz beans? Now all I need is a tomato soup that’s better and I’m away.

I have family in Leamington. Can confirm it was a BIG DEAL when Heinz left! Major feelings of betrayal. I wonder how they feel now that Heinz decided to go to reopen in Quebec?

I also doubt that the Heinz ketchup I buy is Canadian made. More likely to come up from California? But maybe so. I'll have to check.

CBCKraft Heinz hits back at what it called Trudeau's 'misleading' comment about its Canadian ketchup | CBC NewsThe ketchup giant is seeing red after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau brought up its past exit from Canada while discussing a potential Canada-U.S. trade war.

I believe in supporting and being loyal to brands that are loyal to you, or do "the right thing".

Several years back, #Heinz closed their Canadian plant that makes Heinz Ketchup. Moved all production to the USA so they could save $0.015 per bottle sold. Cost 100s of Canadian jobs.

So I switched to French' Ketchup, and haven't bought any Heinz products since.

French's is made in Canada, using Canadian produce. Canadians eat a LOT of ketchup. We even put it on hot dogs (gasp!).
